HOLLY WILLOUGHBY – who co-hosts This Morning with Phillip Schofield – has opened up about her decision to move away from her role on an ITV show that she has been a part of for 12 years, as the star admitted, “it was obviously a massive decision to make”.
This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, 39, has opened up about her decision to quit her team captain role on Celebrity Juice during her final episode of the ITV2 show, which aired last night. The mum-of-three had been a part of the programme for 12 years and admitted to her co-star Keith Lemon, 45, that leaving was “a scary decision” for her to make.
Holly Willoughby was also joined on the show by John Barrowman, Mel B and Joey Essex as they filmed from their homes during the coronavirus lockdown.
Keith, whose real name is Leigh Francis, showed fans a “best bits” episode, which reflected on the guests funniest moments from the series.
However, Hollys highlights were more emotional after she made an announcement that she would be stepping down from the show earlier this month.
When Keith quizzed her on how she was feeling about making the move, Holly revealed: “Really weird.
“It was obviously a massive decision to make and a scary decision!
“Obviously 12 years is a really long time of doing something.”
The pals then watched Hollys most memorable moments from her time on Celebrity Juice.
The ITV favourite also shared some advice for her successor, saying they should “enjoy every moment because there is no show like it”.
After looking back on a clip of Holly and her former co-star Fearne Cotton trying to eat a carrot with their legs over their heads, Keith challenged her to show off her party trick again.
Holly then could be seen pulling her leg up towards her head to prove she could still perform the impressively bendy move.
The star also addressed her final episode in view of her 6.7 million Instagram followers yesterday alongside a snap of her flaunting her flexibility.
She captioned the post: “Up to the usual @celebjuiceofficial shenanigans tonight.
“With one slight change… its my last one… having a little look back at the last 12 years of giggles… tonight @itv2 @celebjuiceofficial 10pm… see you there…”
Fans took to the comments section of Hollys post to share how much they are going to miss her on the show.
One person wrote: “Everyone will miss you so much.”
Another fan commented: “Awww – wont be the same without you Holly.”(sic)
A third person replied: “Can’t believe you’re time on cj is over really gonna miss you girl you’ve made me laugh so much Holly and s**t youre bendy beautiful.”(sic)
Elsewhere, Hollys co-star Keith admitted he thought the presenter was “pregnant” when she broke the news to him that she would be leaving Celebrity Juice.
Speaking to The Sun, Keith said: “She rang me up. She never usually rings me so I thought she is going to tell me she’s pregnant.
“She said, ‘I’ve got something to tell you. This is like breaking up with a boyfriend’.”
Keith then revealed the real reason behind Holly’s departure was for her family, as he added: “I said, ‘You’re going to tell me you’re leaving, aren’t you?’ and she said, ‘Yes, it’s been 12 great years but I want to spend time with the family’.”
