Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum are set to reprise their roles for Jurassic World 3.
Director Colin Trevorrow announced the news at a screening of Jurassic World at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood on Tuesday (24 September).
According to Collider, the trio will all return in sizeable roles too – possibly after response to the brief, underwhelming return of Goldblum as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Dern later announced her involvement on Instagram by joining Trevorrow at the event, writing: Loved joining my buddy, Colin, to announce the return of the original cast of Jurassic Park back into the Jurassic World.
Dern last appeared in the franchise in Jurassic Park III for a brief cameo as Dr Ellie Sattler, which also starred Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant.
Trevorrow is set to direct Jurassic World 3 and will co-write the script with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising), although plot details are still yet to be revealed. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both expected to return.
The director recently released short film Battle At Big Rock which picks up one year after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, depicting the world where dinosaurs live among us – so its possibly safe to assume this is where the third outing will head.
