Coronation Street fans were left in tears after watching Sinead Tinkers heartbreaking cancer scenes in Wednesdays episode

Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, was seen confronting her husband, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) after they had decided she should undergo one last round of chemotherapy to try and buy her more time.

She told him: Seems to me like youre the one making all the big decisions about my life. Well, whats left of it.

Sinead added to Daniel that she will try the final round of chemo, but if she is still feeling as ill as she is now, she will stop the treatment, leaving him devastated.

She later said: Thats the one thing they dont tell you about cancer, how lonely it is, and said she wouldnt blame Daniel if he wanted to walk away.

I dont want you to look back on our last days together and only remember the bad times, she continued as he apologised for letting her down, and she agreed this round of chemo would be the last.

Viewers were left in tears at the emotional scenes, tweeting: My heart breaks for Sinead and Daniel and Watching coronation street balling [sic] my eyes on a Wednesday night.

Fans of the show have seen Sinead battle cervical cancer, before receiving the devastating news that she had only months left to live after the cancer returned and spread.

Coronation Streets producers recently confirmed that the cancer plotline would end in Sineads death, with Katie McGlynns final scenes set to air next month.

Katie had previously revealed to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning that she didnt want to give the character a happy ending in order to be true to the suffering of many women affected by cancer.

She explained: I had a meeting with Kate [Oates] and said, “I think I might want to leave, Ive been there for so long and Ive not had that big of a story”.

They told me this storyline and I thought this is amazing, please do this. I know it sounds very sadistic but I wanted her to die because thats real life and life isnt a fairytale.
