Vikings season six is almost here, and the stars of the show have teased their favourite scenes from the History Channel hit.

Katheryn Winnick was joined by her Nordic buddy Alex Høgh Andersen when chatting about the upcoming season to TV Guide.

Discussing their most iconic battle sequences, the duo gave an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes – and it sounds exhausting.

The Lagertha star was first to tease, saying: I guess my most memorable battle has to be Lagerthas next battle in season six.

It is epic, took weeks to rehearse, lots of blood, sweat and tears.

Smirking into the camera, the 41-year-old added: It is definitely going to be something you have never seen before.

Were kind of scared that this means the Queens death – but we guess well just have to wait and see.

Alex was quick to chirp in, and explained: My favourite battle scene when shooting Vikings is from an episode called Homeland.

My character, Ivar The Boneless, is charging into battle, and hes really eager to get there, and yet when he finally arrives he gets knocked off the chariot.

Straight away he finds himself all along on the battlefield, facing a hundred Saxon soldiers.

Fondly recalling the moment, he laughed: We shot that scene for 10 hours a day, two days in a row, in the pouring rain, and I was covered in blood from head to toe, screaming all day long. But that was tonnes of fun.

This isnt the first time Katheryn has spoken about an impending battle on the horizon.

Talking to ET Canada earlier this year, she said there was one last fight that we will see the much loved shieldmaiden in.

Addressing the epic battle scenes that we have seen throughout the series, she went onto reassure fans that there will be at least one more – for Lagertha, anyway.

Its going to be adventurous, its going to be amazing, Katheryn beamed: Ill tell you one thing though, she is definitely not done fighting yet. There is still one big battle left to come.
