James Argent has joked hes got enough body fat as he avoided wearing a wetsuit on Sink Or Swim because he looked ridiculous.

Fans of the Towie star, whos currently training to swim the English Channel in aid of Stand Up For Cancer, questioned why Arg refused to wear a wetsuit in the freezing temperatures.

Luckily, the 31-year-old had a simple answer.

Because I look ridiculous in one & when I tried it took me and hour to get it on! Ive got enough body fat. To keep me warm, he joked on Twitter, adding a cry-laughing emoji.

Hes a braver soul than us.

The star, who ended up ducking out of a five kilometer swim on the show after he said his body shut down, also urged fans not to give up on him.

I was just writing how impressed I was with @RealJamesArgent on #SinkorSwim Ive since deleted it after that #su2c, one viewer wrote.

The Towie star told them: I dont blame you but dont give up on me just yet! X.

Despite Arg struggling during the show, hes clearly not lost his sense of humour – previously rocking his Sexy Beast speedo.

In an Instagram video, adventure swimmer and Sink Or Swim coach Ross Edgley called for a public vote on the serious question of Args wardrobe.

Do they make the cut?” asks Nelson, laughing as he holds up the bright yellow briefs. I think yes.

Whatever it takes to get him through, right?

Nevertheless, the show has been a massive accomplishment for Arg, 31, who last month admitted to being deeply concerned about his health after his weight ballooned to around 24 stone.

I [was] the biggest Id ever been, he told the Sun. I could become ill or die. The swim is an opportunity to sort my life out.
