New plot details have emerged for upcoming Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian, which looks set to focus on the First Orders rise to power.
While we knew the upcoming Disney+ series will take place between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens in the Star Wars saga, more details from director Dave Filoni and creator Jon Favreau have given a clearer idea of what the show will explore within that time period.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, while not confirming exactly, the pair strongly indicated The Mandalorian will explain how the First Order and Supreme Leader Snoke came to be.
Referring to events after Return Of The Jedi, director Dave Filoni said: This doesnt turn into a good guy universe because you blew up two Death Stars.
You get that the Rebels won and theyre trying to establish a Republic, but theres no way that could have set in for everybody all at once.
You have in a Western where youre out on the frontier and there might be Washington and they might have some marshals, but sometimes, good luck finding one.

Show creator Jon Favreau added: What could happen in the 30 years between celebrating the defeat of the Empire and then the First Order?
You come in on Episode VII, [and the First Order are] not just starting out. Theyre pretty far along. So somehow, things werent necessarily managed as well as they could have been if they ended up in hot water again like that.
Exactly how the new Mandalorian bounty hunter fits into this story is unknown, but with the confirmation of a season two already, its certainly looking promising.
The show features an impressive cast too, including Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, and Werner Herzog.
