It might not be the season to be jolly this year, with another remake of Black Christmas set to make you fear the festive spirit all over again.

Directed by Sophia Takal (Always Shine), this remake of the 1974 original follows a similar story, seeing a group of sorority girls at Hawthorne College stalked by an unknown killer in the house.

This version features an impressive cast too, including Imogen Poots (Green Room), Lily Donoghue (Jane The Virgin), Aleyse Shannon (Charmed), Brittany OGrady (Star), Caleb Eberhardt and Cary Elwes.

While the trailer perhaps shows a little too much, it certainly looks like promising horror fun if you cant quite stomach the uplifting side of Christmas.

It also has the added pressure of justifying its existence, after another reboot didnt exactly set the world alight back in 2006.

Will this be a worthwhile return though? Well have to wait until December hits.

Black Christmas releases in cinemas on 13 December.
