Beaming down the lens, the actor could be seen posing next to a lake while seemingly on a hike through a forest.
Joking with his 150,000 followers, the father-of-one wrote in the caption: Its a jungle out there.
He then sent fans into meltdown by adding both a caterpillar and wink emoji.
Omg next jungle king right there, one wrote while another added: Wow cant wait to see you on the Jungle.
Someone else joked: Good luck with the jungle.Hope your not scared of creepy crawlers climbing into your bed at night.
Even his Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas couldnt help but join in with the speculation: Cant wait to see you on the jungle congratulations mate.
Next years contestants are yet to be announced, with an ITV spokesperson telling Metro.co.uk that the line up will be released nearer transmission.
But that hasnt stopped rumours from circulating with the likes of James Haskell and Myles Stephenson keen favourites to enter the show.
Meanwhile, Paul Hollywoods ex-girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam quashed rumours that she had been approached about taking part in the upcoming series.
Just last month, the former barmaid, 24, took to her Instagram stories to dispel the gossiping.
She wrote: Just to set the record straight… I have never contacted or been contacted by the celebrity jungle.
