Dear White People is returning for a third season next month with some incredible brand new faces joining the Netflix phenomenon when it returns next month.
Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox, Communitys Yvette Nicole Brown and Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood have all been cast, as well as rapper Flavor Flav.
Confirming the news on Instagram to her 3.7million followers, Laverne enthused: I am so excited to be in one of my favorite shows on television.
You all must check out Dear White Peoples new season premiering on Netflix August 2nd. Can you guess what kind of character Ill be playing?
Meanwhile, Yvette excitedly wrote: Guys! Im visiting Winchester!!!
Set against the backdrop of a predominantly white Ivy League university where racial tensions bubble just below the surface, Dear White People is an hilarious send-up of post-racial America that weaves together the universal story of finding ones own identity and forging a wholly unique path.
The last season ended with Sam (played by Logan Browning) being specially selected by a secret society known as The Order X alongside Lionel (DeRon Horton).
So far little is known about the order and what they stand for, but of course well soon find out.
I think we have to follow up what the Order of X is, what it means, what to continues to mean, teased showrunner Justin Simien.
The secret thing is something I want to build upon because it is part of the fabric of the school. I dont know that I want that to be the focus of next season, but you cant just run away from that storyline.
Dear White People is available to stream on Netflix with the new season arriving in Friday 2 August.Read More – Source
