Holly Willoughby may have proved to be a ratings smash for Im A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but she wont be joining Declan Donnelly in the jungle again next year.
Hollys absence has been felt on This Morning since she deserted Phillip Schofield for the biggest show on TV.
But Phil has now stressed that his telly wife wont be leaving him to replace Ant McPartlin again, insisting the mum-of-threes stint in Oz was merely a caretaker role.
Holly has been a triumph in the jungle, he enthused to the Daily Star. I am so pleased because its worked out so well for Dec in what was a tricky situation.
It was always going to be a difficult series for Dec so I was happy Holly was able to step in.
Although, he went on to warn fans of Hollys time on Im A Celebrity: Dont get too attached.
Holly has been a resounding hit with Im A Celebrity viewers since the series launched less than three weeks ago, and the ratings have been through the roof.
More: I'm A Celebrity
On average, each episode of Im A Celebrity has been getting over 13 million viewers an episode – almost 2 million more than the average viewing figures in 2017.
However, Ant and Dec have previously suggested theyll be reunited on screen in 2019, though we still have no confirmation when that will be.
Ant has stepped back from the limelight after he was charged for drink-driving earlier this year and subsequently entered rehab.
Im A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
