He has one-year-old daughter Iris at home, and his wife Hannah is expecting their second child, so Eddie Redmayne is well-versed in reading bedtime stories.

The practice must’ve paid off as the Oscar-winning actor, 35, was praised for his reading of If I Had A Dinosaur in a CBeebies Bedtime Story.

The Les Miserables star took to the BBC childrens channel over Christmas to read the story about a little girl who dreams of having her very own pet dinosaur.

Eddie was praised by parents and children alike for his reading, with one fan calling for him to have a BAFTA (he already has one, to be fair).

In a preview clip ahead of the reading, the dad-of-one appeared in the Story Seat with a cuddly toy newt.

He said: ‘Hey there! I’m Eddie and this is my newt, Amanda. And Amanda and I, we love stories.

‘In fact, we were just saying how nice it would be to share one with you on CBeebies!
