The Sound Of Music star Heather Menzies Urich has passed away aged 68.
The actress, who played Louisa von Trapp in the iconic film, died on Christmas Eve surrounded by her family.
Her son Ryan Urich told TMZ: ‘She was an actress, a ballerina and loved living her life to the fullest.
‘She was not in any pain but, nearly 4 weeks after her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, she had enough and took her last breath on this earth at 7:22 PM.’
Heather is survived by her three children, her grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Her late husband, actor Robert Urich, died aged 55 in 2002.
Heather was just 15 when she played Louisa, one of Captain Von Trapp’s daughters, in 1965’s The Sound Of Music.
The Christmas classic won five Oscars, including Best Picture.
Heather started her acting career aged 14 in The Farmer’s Daughter, and went on to star in shows including Logan’s Run, The Love Boat and Vega$.
Her last role was in 1987’s Spenser: For Hire.
