We don’t want to suggest that Prue Leith has a habit of giving away spoilers or anything – but she might have just gone and done the same thing during the Christmas Bake Off special.
The first of two festive trips to the Bake Off tent aired on Christmas Day – with old favourites Paul, Val, Selasi and Beca returning to the show to dish up some seasonal treats.
And all was going smoothly until it came to the technical challenge – in which the four bakers had to dish up a plate of mince pies.
They didn’t know this of course. Until – prior to the normal point when Paul and Prue leave the tent, leaving Sandi and Noel to reveal what the challenge is, Prue mistakenly did it for them.
‘Mince pies – they have to be delicious,’ she explained. ‘They have to look fantastic, and the trick is to be very gentle.
Er, you won’t supposed to tell them that, Prue. As Sandi pointed out when she added: ‘Now, normally Prue doesn’t give away what it is you’re supposed to be making,’ as the judge realised what she’d done.
‘I realise I’ve just done that!’ she quipped before slinking shamefacedly out of the tent.
Oh Prue. And don’t think nobody noticed, either:
Although others just couldn’t seem to let her previous faux pas – in which she tweeted the winner of the series several hours before it aired – lie, now could they?
