McGregor stunned the world when he agreed to face Floyd Mayweather in the ring and has currently been out of the UFC for 13 months.
The Irishman is back in training ahead of a potential return to the UFC in early 2018, but there is no guarantee McGregor will fight again.
Manny Pacquiao has made it known that he wants to square off with McGregor and Bisping thinks that is fight to make for his fellow UFC star.
‘Conor’s yet to defend his lightweight belt, we don’t know if he’ll do that’, Bisping said on his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast.
‘Manny Pacquiao’s calling him out for a boxing fight – that would do huge numbers.’
He added: ‘If I was Conor. . . when Dana said what he said last week, what he probably means by that is in the UFC.
‘If I’m Conor, I take the Pacquiao fight all day long.’
Pacquiao’s suggestion he had already opened talks with McGregor angered UFC president, Dana White.
White is desperate for his biggest star to return to action in the octagon and defend his lightweight title.
McGregor made around £100million from his August blockbuster against Mayweather and has refused to rule out further fights in boxing.
Lightweight interim champion Tony Ferguson is expected to welcome McGregor back into the octagon, but Bisping thinks even if Pacquiao is unavailable, the MMA star should be chasing boxing fights.
‘Or even fu***** Malignaggi! He’s been talking s**t. There’s a good possibility [that Conor beats Paulie],’ he added.
‘That’s a better opponent for Conor as a boxer than Floyd Mayweather or Pacquiao are.
‘If I’m Conor, I can go fight a killer in Khabib [Nurmagomedov] or Tony Ferguson for ten or fifteen million.’
