EastEnders is airing up a huge conflict for Rainie Branning in the wake of Donna Yates plot with Cora Cross to frame her for more drugs abuse. Seething that Max and Rainie have united and exposed to the social worker that she tried to pay Rainie to betray Max, Cora has decided that its time to fight fire with fire.
She encourages Donna to plant drugs on Rainie and so when a package is delivered addressed to her, Rainie is confused but Max wont give her a chance to explain that she is being set up. Ranting that she has had the last of her last chances, he kicks her out again and faced with losing her future and the chance to build a life as Abis guardian, Rainie plots revenge.
We certainly wouldnt want to be the ones to take her on and, following a bust up in the cafe where Donna has let rip about how they treated Cora, it doesnt take Rainie long to figure out who has framed her.
With Lisa Hammond leaving the show after several years, it seems likely that she is going to regret getting involved in this. When Rainie is faced with losing everything, she can lash out and this may not be a battle that Donna can win.
While we are sworn to secrecy over how and exactly when Donna leaves, its fair to say that this is the catalyst of her goodbye. Poor Robbie Jackson, it was all going so well!
Speaking of her exit, Lisa told Metro.co.uk when we exclusively revealed the news: Its been so great to play Donna for the past four years. Ive made lifelong friends at EastEnders and will really miss all of the brilliant cast and crew who have always been a pleasure to work with! I look forward to what the future brings.
