The Loose Women enjoyed their time off from TV screens on Tuesday by attending the 2018 Television and Radio Industries Club awards.
Instead of gossiping over the days hot topics live on TV, Andrea McLean, Christine Bleakley, Nadia Sawalha, Gloria Hunniford and Saira Khan got all glammed up for a champagne reception and lunch as the awards were handed out.
The women are nominated for daytime programme, going up against BBC Breakfast and This Morning.
ITV has bumped Loose Women off the schedule to air the Cheltenham Races instead; Monday’s episode was the last until next Monday so the channel can broadcast the sporting event.
‘That’s it for today and for the rest of the week I’m afraid. Because we are off air because of ITV’s coverage of the horse racing at Cheltenham,’ confessed Ruth Langsford at the end of the show. ‘We will be back next Monday, that’s a week away, but have a great week and we will see you same time next Monday.’
The stars of Love Island also turned up for the awards where they hoped to pick up the award for best reality programme.
Last year’s winner Amber Davies was joined by Montana Brown and Gabby Allen on the red carpet, while host Caroline Flack and narrator Iain Stirling also made an appearance.
Elsewhere, Strictly’s 2017 winners Katya Jones and her partner Joe McFadden were also on hand, hoping to take home entertainment programme, and Prue Leith made an apeparance in case Bake off won food programme.
The Tric awards honour achievement in TV and radio and are voted for by members of the industry.
Taking place at Grosvenor House, guests enjoyed a champagne reception before lunch and the awards ceremony.
