80’s icon Kim Wilde is back in the music business, and she’s revealed that it’s not just the memories of shoulder pads and giant hair that have tempted her into make a new album.
Speaking to a somewhat sceptical Loose Women panel on Monday, the Kids In America singer explained that it was actully an alien encounter which inspired her 2018 comeback.
Chatting all things extra terrestrial with Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Gloria Hunniford and Jane Moore, Kim recalled the out of this world experience that sparked her latest inspiration.
Telling her ET-esque tale, Kim said: ‘It was in 2009 and I was in my garden with my husband and a girlfriend of mine.
‘We saw some helicopters and a bright light come towards us from the South West. We looked of course, expecting to see they were after someone.
That didn’t happen, the helicopters left. I think they were scrambling to try and find what this thing was.’
Quizzed by Gloria on whether anyone believed her story, Kim laughed as she admitted: ‘Everyone thought I’d been on the pinot grigio…’
Explaining how the weird and wonderful UFO sighting had unfolded, Kim went on: ‘The light remained behind cloud in the sky, we went to investigate.
‘I’m looking up and I’m seeing this thing and all of a sudden it moves from 11 o’clock to 2 o’clock… Then a smaller one joined it.’
With her new album suitably named Here Come The Aliens set for release next week, Kim insisted that her UFO sighting had been a positive experience.
‘It has really inspired me a lot,’ she said. ‘I really believe what I saw was a UFO. It wasn’t of this planet.’
