Skepta, Childish Gambino, N.E.R.D and more will head up Lovebox Festival as it moves to its new home of Gunnersbury Park.
After a 16 year run, the festival – originally set up by Groove Armada in 2002 and now run by MAMA Festivals – is upping sticks to West London. But in true style, it’s bringing a host of world-class names in tow.
Mercury prize winner and grime figurehead Skepta will headline Friday, while Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo’s N.E.R.D project will make a return to the stage for Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Star Wars actor Donald Glover – aka Childish Gambino – is also tipped to headline on the Saturday night.
There’s plenty more music from across the spectrum, including beats, house and techno from Kerri Chandler, Floorplan, Jackmaster, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Annie Mac.
Action Bronson, The Internet, Anderson.Paak, Vince Staples, UK emcee Dave and former Outkast member Big Boi will all represent hip-hop stylings.
It was announced last year that the two festivals would be moving on from their home in Victoria Park, with Brockwell Park thought to be the front runner. But bosses settled on west London’s Gunnersbury Park.
Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council said: ‘I am delighted to welcome the Lovebox and Citadel Festivals to the borough this summer.
‘Rightly recognised as among the very best anywhere across the capital and beyond, these festivals will boast acclaimed, international artists and a vibrant atmosphere for the many thousands of fans attending.’
Additional acts for the 2018 edition will be announced in the coming weeks.
