The rumours of who’ll be heading into the Celebrity Big Brother house might be continuing to swirl – but it seems one person you won’t be seeing in there is Eamonn Holmes.
That’s because the newly-OBE-ed 58-year-old has reportedly turned down a whopping £800,000 for the chance to enter the house when the series returns in January.
And why’s that? Because according to the Daily Star Sunday he’s insisted he doesn’t need the money and has no interest in taking part.
‘This one is the biggest so far at £800,000. But no amount of money could tempt him,’ a source said.
‘He’s said it isn’t about the money because he doesn’t need to earn more cash than he already does through his TV projects.
‘Eamonn told producers he absolutely loves the show and is a committed viewer, but definitely doesn’t want to be a housemate.’
Booooo. However you might still get to see him on the show in some capacity – since he has told show bosses he’d be happy to take part in a task with those who do enter the house.
With the start of the new series just two days away, details of the housemates – apart from the already announced Rachel Johnson – are remaining a closely guarded secret.
However we do know that the initial line-up will be all female, in a commemoration of 2018 marking 100 years since women won the right to vote.
Johnson was confirmed as the first housemate last weekend, while the likes of India Willoughby, Louise Thompson, Honey G and Charlotte Dawson are also being rumoured for the all-female line-up.
Celebrity Big Brother kicks off on Channel 5 on January 2 at 9pm.
