Gogglebox’s Christmas special, featuring some of the show’s best bits from 2017, will still be aired on Channel 4 following Leon Bernicoff’s death.
The two-hour show – which features Leon as well as some of the highlights from other cast members over the past year, is due to be shown on Christmas Eve at 9pm.,
And a spokesperson has now confirmed to the Mirror that it will ‘go ahead as planned’ – although an announcement about Leon’s sad death will be made on Channel 4 before it is shown.
Leon and his wife June – who were among the show’s original cast members in 2013 – are due to feature on the show along with cast regulars including Giles and Mary, the Tappers and the Siddiqiuis, as they offer their own views on some of the biggest shows of the year.
Tributes have been flooding in for the 83-year-old since news of his death on Saturday was confirmed.
Scarlett Moffatt was among the first to pay her respects after the sad news broke, saying on Twitter: ‘Words can’t explain what you meant to so many people.’
‘From your words of encouragement to me to the little DMs. Leon you were loved by so many. Sending my love to you and all of your family.’

Fellow Goggleboxer Sandi Bogle was also among the stars of the show to pay tribute to Leon as news of his death broke.
‘Would like to send my condolences to all Leon and June family, so sad to hear about his passing,’ she said as she posted a picture of the couple. ‘All my love and blessings.’
The retired teacher passed away in hospital on Saturday after a short illness, after he and wife June – whom he met in 1955 – had been together for more than 60 years.
