Louis CK has had his voice removed from the Disney XD cartoon Gravity Falls, following the recent allegations of sexual misconduct made against him.
The disgraced comedian played the character of The Horrifying Sweaty One-Armed Monstrosity in the popular show, in the 2015 episode Weirdmageddon: Part 1 and its 2016 follow-up Weirdmageddon: Part 3.
The character consists of a large disembodied head with an arm growing out of it – which spends most of its screen time trying to persuade others to jump into its mouth.
However Disney XD have now confirmed that the roles have been re-recorded – with Louis’ voice replaced by that of showrunner Alex Hirsch.
‘The role was rerecorded approximately one month ago and new versions of three episodes are now on the Disney XD schedule around the world,’ a channel spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
Since the claims against Louis CK surfaced in a New York Times report, his film I Love You Daddy has been pulled from release, while a second Netflix comedy special featuring the star has also been pulled.
The 50-year-old was accused by five women – one of whom remained anonymous – of masturbating either in front of them or during phone conversations.
Last month the comedian admitted to the allegations in a lengthy statement, in which he said he was ‘remorseful’ of actions and had tried to learn from them.
